Poker Profiles: J.C. Tran

J.C. Tran or Justin Cuong Van Tran was born in Nha Trang Vietnam on January 20, 1977. He is currently settled in Sacramento, California, where he spent most of his adult days.

J.C. keeps a degree in Business Administration from the California State University but found no rewards in using it. Instead, he turned his eyes to Poker and found success like no other. At present, he is considered as one of the most recognized players with seven first place finishes and numerous final table appearances. The World Series of Poker bracelet, however, remains a dream. But at the rate that J.C. is playing, he will most certainly get one for himself in the near future.

J.C. loves frequenting cash games and tournament games for obvious reasons. First, he wants to earn serious stash of cash not to keep all to himself but to donate to charities. Second, he wants to earn respect from his fellow players and from the worldwide fans of Poker as a true blue Poker professional. J.C. is working hard for both. As a matter of fact, he never stopped joining tournaments after tournaments. For as long as he could earn an entry, he will! He is far more impressive than during those days when he used to frequent local Sacramento card rooms. He has been into most of them, the WSOP, the World Poker Tour, the L.A. Poker Classic, and the Borgata Poker Open among others. 2007 was a good year for J.C.'s career. It was when he first laid his hands on a WPT title, at the World Poker Challenge, and a runner-up finish at the L.A. Poker Classic where he pursed over a million dollars. His current tournament cash ins has already exceeded the 45 million mark.

What's good about J.C. is that he never stops trying. He continues to play hard, play tough just to reach his dreams. He is one ambitious player you would love watching at the final table. His heart's desire for a win is infectious. Like any experienced player would tell you, it is still much early for J.C. to back out on his dreams. He is young and obviously has the skill to stick around for years. If he will be wise enough to play his cards in years to come, J.C. might just well be staring at a glitzy golden bracelet in his arm soon. Following the streaks of his idol Jerry Patton would not be a bad guide.
