Important in PokerIn poker, there are many important things a poker player must learn. However, there are two of these important things which most expert poker players learned that are very hard to do. One of these two things is to play your big hands correctly, that you may catch another poker player into your net and play against your big hands. The other one is to be able to fold some of your big hands. Most people would think that playing your good hands is a very easy thing to do. Not quite. There are many troubles that accompany this move. You can be over excited that it would be too obvious to your opponents that you got a very good hand. If the other poker players in the table will notice that you indeed have a good hand, chances are, they would not want to play against you, and they will fold. This is not good for you, but a novice poker player would think otherwise. Novice poker players would just be contented with the blinds, but as a skilled poker player, you must be able to take this kind of opportunity to win a big pot and be the chip leader. To be able to win your big hands in poker, you must have an unpredictable betting pattern. Other poker players must never be able to guess correctly the times when you really have your good hands and the times that you are just bluffing. In this way, when you really got your best cards, you may lead them to think that you are just bluffing, and the other poker players would not fold. It would be better if you get all of them in the game so that the pot would increase bigger and bigger. The second important thing in poker, which is being able to fold, is just a question of pride. Most novice poker players do not know when is the right time to fold, even if they got the worst cards. However, the more skilled poker players know to fold their worst cards. This is just an easy task for them. What is a harder thing to do is to fold, even your good hands. Some poker players are too proud to fold, they think that they have a good hand - good enough to beat others. What they fail to remember or to note is that other poker players at the table may have a better hand. The proud poker players are too excited with their hands that they do not take any more time to read their opponents' cards or even compute the outs. |
